Listening to hip hop music online has been a past time for me. What I usually do is surf youtube.com or lastfm.com to search for fresh new beats I can occupy myself with. Sometimes, what i do is type the name of artists I already like and look for similar bands or singers of the same genre (this especially works in lastfm). This way, I get more than i bargained for.There is also this website called soundcloud.com where you can stream beats and sometimes even download them to your pc (if the owner allows it though). And what I like about that site is the clean interface and fast loading time. I also like checking out forums and discussion boards on hip hop where people discuss the latest & illest songs and loops with samples attach so I can know for myself if I like the song or not.
So if you got the slightest free time, take a break from surfing on Facebook and check out some of these websites I’ve mentioned. They willl definitely allow you to listen to hip hop music online which for sure will get you deeped in the roots of hip hop. Gotta love technology!
