Hip Hop clothing is one vital aspect of living the hip hop culture. I know, i know, people assume that all hip hop heads wear those baggy pants with their cracks showing but honestly, they can’t be more wrong. That kind of get up is just one of the many facets of hip hop fashion. Hip Hop clothing for me should not be type casted. I am hip hop but i don’t necessarily rock those jeans 2 sizes bigger than me. For short, what i mean is dressing hip hop has always been and will forever be about looking fly.For those lookin’ for the definition of fly, it means that that person is looking mad fitted or fresh with their outfits. It might be the color combinations/ colorways or even just the attitude of the person wearing the clothes. Some people whose hip hop fashion sense i dig are Run Dmc, LL Cool J, Kanye West for the guys and Alicia Keys, Beyonce and J. Lo for the women.
These people are mos def Hip Hop and they represent their different personalities through their clothes. Whether you dress old school, rock afro- centric inspired clothes or even tapered suits (think P. Diddy), you are Hip Hop because it’s not what you wear, it’s how you live and breathe the culture. So if you want to become hip hop, don’t think about the way you dress, just stay true to yourself and to the hip hop lifestyle and people will recognize. Pz.
